Meet the New Faces in Emory Gynecology and Obstetrics

In the past few months, we’ve graduated another class of residents and fellows and said goodbye to Dr. Cyril Spann, who’s retiring. But alongside these goodbyes, we’re happy to say hello to some wonderful new doctors who have joined our department.

jennifer-wrenn.jpgJennifer Wrenn, MD, joined Emory on June 1 as an assistant professor of gynecology and obstetrics. A generalist based at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Dr. Wrenn attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.



Amber-Samuel-2.jpgAmber Samuel, MD, joined Emory on July 1 as an assistant professor of gynecology and obstetrics. Dr. Samuel is joining the Maternal-Fetal Medicine division and will be based at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She attended Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Education Program, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. She completed her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.


Just as we welcomed our new residents on July 1, we also welcomed new fellows.

  • Elizabeth Deans, MD; Family Planning. Dr. Deans attended University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her residency at University of California at San Diego.
  • Catherine Hudson, MD; Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hudson attended Emory University School of Medicine and completed her residency with our department.
  • Angela Martin, MD; Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Martin went to medical school at University of Missouri in Columbia and completed her residency with our department.
  • Lesley Conrad, MD; Pelvic Surgery. Dr. Conrad attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed her residency at LSU Health Sciences Center.
  • Sara Rizk, MD; Pelvic Surgery. Dr. Rizk attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Wayne State University.
  • Anita Tamirisa, DO; Pelvic Surgery. Dr. Rizk attended Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio.
  • Heather Hipp, MD; Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Hipp attended Emory University School of Medicine and completed her residency with our department.
