Emory Gynecology and Obstetrics Welcomes Resident Class of 2017

residents-2013-first-wk.jpgIf it’s summer, then it’s time for Emory Gynecology and Obstetrics to welcome a new class of residents. Training the next generation of leaders in gynecology and obstetrics is a responsibility the department takes seriously, and we’re proud to offer a top-notch training program that provides opportunities to serve diverse patient populations, protected time for didactics, research opportunities and extensive hands-on experience.

The new residents are:

Elise Bardawil, Drexel University College of Medicine

Katie de Souza, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine

Erin Duncan, Emory University School of Medicine

Steven Gay, Emory University School of Medicine

Jana Platz, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine

Toya Pratt, Penn State College of Medicine

Kelcie Rodriguez-Peterson, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine

Shivika Trevedi, Emory University School of Medicine

Renita Woolford, The Ohio State University College of Medicine

The interns began orientation on June 24th with a warm welcome from Residency Program Director Jessica Arluck, MD. Orientation includes everything from an introduction to the Emory Healthcare system to hands-on training. The new residents had a chance to practice neonatal resuscitation, knot tying and suturing, and delivery simulations.
