Gordon, Haddad Achieve Research Honors

Two faculty members have been recognized by the School of Medicine for accomplishments in research.
Alan N. Gordon, MD, Willaford Ransom Leach Professor and Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology, was welcomed into Emory’s MilliPub Club. The MilliPub Club honors Emory faculty who have published a paper that has garnered more than 1,000 citations. Such a paper is commonly considered a “citation classic” and represents high impact scholarship. Dr. Gordon received this recognition for his authorship on "Specific recruitment of regulartory T cells in ovarian carcinoma fosters immune privilege and predicts reduced survival."
Lisa B. Haddad, MD, MS, MPH, assistant professor in the Family Planning division, received the Emory 1% award, which identifies faculty who have received study section scores in the top one percentile on a grant proposal. Dr. Haddad received this honor for her project, “Impact of Progestin Contraception on Risk of HIV Acquisition and Transmission.” Dr. Haddad also received a Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for this project.
